The Enable Group Donate Specialist Surveys & Volunteer Cabin to Spitalfields City Farm

9 August 2021

Off the back of our successful delivery of the project renovating platform 17 at Liverpool Street Station for MTR Elizabeth line, we have donated a welfare cabin and undertaken a volunteering project at Spitalfields City Farm.

In line with our company goal to increase social value through infrastructure project delivery, we always look for opportunity to positively impact local communities through our resources and capabilities. In this instance our Liverpool Street Station project team were delighted to have an opportunity to work with Spitalfields City Farm, which was located close to our Bethnal Green Site Compound.

Opened in 1978, Spitalfields farm is a charity that assists local communities in developing their knowledge on animals and agriculture.

We discovered that the farm were trying to develop their site to increase its capacity. We decided to help by providing topographical and drainage surveys to support their development plans.

We discovered that they also had limited volunteering space, so we decided to donate a welfare cabin which will be used as temporary accommodation for volunteers and community groups that visit the farm.

Jamie Morrish, Site Development Manager at Spitalfields City Farm said: “The Enable Consortium has created the foundation upon which we can take a more holistic approach to our development.  Ultimately helping us to grow better and do better for the community we serve.”
