The London to Corby Electrification Route has now been Authorised.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) have authorised the entry into service of the new Energy Subsystem using the United Kingdom Master series overhead contact system, which is titled:  London to Corby Electrification and Capacity Upgrade project Stage 2.

This milestone achievement comes after Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) implemented the delivery of Kettering Platform Extensions for Amey. The scope included 4 platform extensions to serve new 240m trains which will increase capacity on the Midland Mainline for Network Rail.

Enable Infrastructure along with the Enable Power Systems (formerly known as BCM Power Systems) team also delivered both Cable Route and Cable installation across L2C for our client SPL Powerlines.

The London to Corby (L2C) Electrification Project for Network Rail is complete and has been implemented safely.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) detailed this achievement which you can view here: https://www.orr.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2021-05/2021-04-28-orr-authorisation-letter-for-l2c-stage-2.pdf
